About Us

Department of Radio diagnosis is one of the busy departments in the teaching hospital sector of Bangalore. It is spread over a large area of over 10,500 square feet. All forms of diagnostic and interventional radiologic procedures are performed. The department examines over 1,50,000 patients every year and about 9500 x-rays per month. Ultrasound department has a turnover of about 150 cases per day. Our CT (16slice) & MR (1.5Tesla) section is also catering round the clock with 850 CTs and 720 MRIs per month. We have digital Mammography machine with about 115 cases per month. Dedicated teaching staff and technical and supporting staff are available to handle all these machines and to teach students. The Department has NMC approved 15 MD seats per year. We have a Library, Museum & seminar hall and we provide 24 x 7 services to the patients.

Facilities

The Department is equipped with 2 state-of-the-art 800Ma & 600Ma high frequency X-ray machines with image intensifier and one 600Ma X-ray machine for routine radiography work. There is one Tejas 6000 (50KV) high frequency X-ray machine for Outpatient department, 4 C arm X-ray machines for O.T and 6 portable X-ray machines for in-patients. The department has 16 slice bright speed spiral CT machine,1high end 16 channel MRI machine of 1.5 Tesla strength with ADW 4.6 advanced work station. We also have 1DSA equipment for intervention procedures, 2 mini PACS (Ashva & scan doc) for intra departmental discussion and 2 computed radiography (C.R systems) systems (Fuji & Carestream). Our Department has an X-Ray museum which houses large number of X-ray films, posters, specimens, CD's and spare X-ray equipment.
