The Department of Pediatrics is a vibrant academic department comprising dedicated faculty with a vision to inculcate compassion, social commitment, ethical values to the training residents and under graduates along with providing comprehensive and quality healthcare, management, treatment for Neonates, children and adolescents. The department also runs specialty clinics like well -baby clinic, High risk infant follow up clinic, Developmental Pediatrics, Hematology, Endocrinology, Pediatrics Pulmonology including Asthma and Allergy clinic. The department has well experienced faculty to take care of the needs of paediatric patients. Apart from regular beds there are 40 neonatal intensive care unit beds & 5 paediatric intensive care units. The department has optimal infrastructure and facilities including air-conditioned classrooms, overhead projectors for the training of undergraduates and postgraduates students. Annual Intake of postgraduates is 20 MD students as recommended by NMC and Central Government. Various activities conducted in the department include breast feeding week, ORS week, newborn week, children's day, IAP undergraduate quiz, NNF neonatology quiz, school health services, pulse polio programme, postgraduate neonatology quiz, speciality clinics in pediatric sub specialities, mortality meetings & radiology meetings. The department also conducts regular screening camps and school visits.
